First Things

This is my first Blog post under new branding, so I’m going to establish a few things first.

Who am I?

I’m Rachel Ann and (big surprise…) I’m not just a photographer. I’m a wife, mother, sister, daughter, cousin (and so on…).

I’m a lover of the magnificent world God created. I am an all around Creative - I knit & crochet, sew, drawing & painting, cook and make up recipes, design wall art, and so many other things.

I choose to photograph families because they are oftentimes the most impactful relationships humans have. I adore little ones and big kids too!

Where do Photo Sessions take place?

As a family and newborn photographer in St Paul, Minneapolis and surrounding areas, I know there is such an amazing variety of scenery and landscapes to choose from. While I personally prefer to be in a 100% natural setting while spending time with my husband and daughter, I absolutely love the structure that the city can contribute to artful portraiture. That’s why I am always seeking out new places to do family photo sessions in the Twin Cities and why I always choose the locations.

Top Rated Family Photographer in Minneapolis and St Paul

Parents-to-be enjoy the late summer wildflower covered hills of St Paul.

Seasonal Photography

In the summer, I choose locations that have native wildflowers in bloom (oh my allergies!) or a beautiful shoreline for those kiddos that love to splash in the water.

In the fall, I choose wide open fields with a backdrop of fall foliage that brings warm tones together with cozy sweater cuddles.

In the winter, I look for snow covered hills and evergreen paths for pulling the kids on a sled.

Fall vs Summer Family Photos

In Minnesota, Fall Family Photos are the most popular session of the year.

If you enjoy hitting the trails around the Twin Cities in the fall, you’ve likely seen a dozen photographers crawling the hills with families clad in fall tones. Everyone loves the fall and so do I!

What’s not to love?

The landscape transforms into warm rainbow, the bugs and mosquitoes are minimal - sweaters! I truly love it, but I think Minnesotans are missing out on the summer!

There is nothing like walking on the shore of one of our beautiful lakes or rivers while the sun kisses your shoulders or the fields full of wildflowers in bloom and the aromas filling the air.
